My parents owned a portrait photography studio when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s. It seemed that every wedding album I processed had at least one bride prepping in underwear shot. Later I would get extra money as a free lance wedding photographer while in college. This was still a very common shot and one you asked about when planning the shoot. The degree of modesty varied greatly and I got more than a couple of shots that went into a "special" album
