I would have to wonder, considering he wanted his posts gone, that the situation around his disappearance was not a good one. It has a "I'm taking my toys and going home" feel to it. If I simply could not post anymore, it would not occur to me to have posts which I worked hard on removed permanently from the Internet. It would make no sense.
I guess I continue to post good findings whether I'm thanked or not, I don't even look to see. It doesn't motivated me, I just like posting.

No I hadn't heard that and it comes as a surprise as we were exchanging PMs only a few days ago concerning prospective calendar purchases. Do we know why he left?
Regarding the leaving of thanks, I usually do this unless the pictures are repostings (and I accept that the poster might not realise that they have been posted before).
