I have an ARCHOS external drive with biult in viewer screen. With the package you get an add on for virtualdub that lets you edit MPEG4.
If you go to this page

put your mouse over download logo and then select software from the link just below.
When you install this, it will ask you, where your virtualdub is installed, and you have to manually direct the installation to it. The main reason for this tool is for editing videos and resizing video so they can be viewed in the ARCHOS viewer.
