For RealMovies (ie. that play with Real Player and have .rm extension), the Real Player site gives the following information that probably also works with other movie formats. I tried it and used Infranview to paste the image into; worked like a charm:

When you capture a screen shot from RealPlayer, the video window will not show the video image that was playing at the moment you captured the screen shot. To capture a screen shot that includes the image from the video window, you must disable the optimized video option in RealPlayer. Then capture the image using the instructions below.

To turn off the optimized video option:

1. Open RealPlayer and click the Tools menu, then Preferences.
2. In the Category panel, click Hardware.
3. In the Video Card Compatibility section, move the slider all the way to the left to Most reliable, which disables optimized video and overlays.
4. Click OK.
5. Restart RealPlayer.

To take the screen shot:

1. Click the RealPlayer window once to make sure it is the active window on your screen.
2. Press and hold the ALT key, and then press the PRINT SCREEN (PrtScn) key. Release both keys.
3. Open the program you want to paste the screen shot into.
4. Right-click inside the document and choose Paste from the menu that appears. This pastes the screen shot into the document.
