Brighton has got quite a big alternative/squatter population and has had quite a few protests in the last year or so which on a couple of occasions have got a little out hand (Smash EDO being the biggest bugbear of the NIMBY's, just read the comments in the local paper the Argus, no matter what the protest they're to blame, if a cat gets stuck up a tree its Smash EDO's fault).

Though the WNBR has been trouble free and good natured every year the large police presence is standard now, the fear being the cyclists may deliberately block streets etc. Shame the weather has been poor the last 2 years, with a point and shoot I decided to stay indoors and just hope Pride stays dry.
