This happened at least 20 years ago. One night I needed something from a shopping center in a sketchy part of town. Got what I needed and in trying to check out this mean looking young woman started accusing me of trying to take her place in line, I apologized if I had (I hadn't) but she still kept threatening me. So after I do check out I start walking out across the dark parking lot and I hear fast moving feet coming up behind me. Thinking I'm about to get whacked by a lunatic I turn around in a defensive manner and there is this hot looking woman, my age or so, staring at me and she asks if I'd mind walking her to her car. She said she had no idea this area had gotten so rough and she was scared to be there by herself.
I walked her to her car and offer to follow her in my car till she got back to a safer area. So we get to a better part of town and she pulls over into the parking lot of bookstore/coffeehouse, I pull up next to her and ask her if she's ok, she say 'yes, I'd love to buy you a cup of coffee and dessert for being so gallant".
"Sure".
We walk in, my attentions are still honorable, at least for now, and who is sitting there, a friend of my wife's and her husband. I said hello, acted innocent, had a cup of coffee, a muffin, some polite chat and left.
Easy come, easy go, not that I would have cheated on my wife.
