Hi lcruizer. Aren't .rar files actually files that have been compressed by winrar? I don't believe there are any media players that play compressed .rar files. You'd first have to uncompress them (and join them if they'd been split) which would revert the files into the original media format (.wmv, .avi, rm etc...).
Same thing re: converting the file. To convert a .rar file, you'd first have to uncompress it and recombine it.
