Sounds a lot like The Adventures of Phoebe Zeitgeist, by Michael Donoghue and Frank Springer, only that Phoebe is a brunette, not a blond. I'd post some but my copy is at my studio right now. Also, Phoebe never seems to be embarrassed by her predicament
