Flickr "disables" downloading photos by placing a transparent GIF file over them, so when you try to save by right-clicking, you only save the transparent ghost file . There are a number of ways to get around it depending on what browser you use.

In Firefox, it's as simple as right-clicking the photo and selecting "view file info." Then, click the media tab, and you'll see a list of all the media items on the page. About 2/3's down they'll be a file named something like "farm8.staticflickr.com" This is the actual underlying image; just click "save as" in the bottom-right corner of the same window, and voila!
