Mastertang - I've tried looking on Craig'slist and haven't been able to find a section with a listing of models, although I know it existed at one time. Is the model listing section still there and I'm just not finding it because I'm looking in the wrong place? I thought I had heard that they had stopped accepting "sexually oriented" listings after several incidents.
I agree that you'll have better success with a Craig'slist model, as ModelMayhem does have a lot of flaky newbie model-wannabe's; newbies are easy to spot - I just ignore them. I'm fairly familiar with the work of a very large number of experienced models, some of whom travel and book shoots in an area, and some of whom I'm close enough to geographically to drive to for a shoot. The real pros are unlikely to flake, and they are very comfortable nude in front of the camera. Meantime, I'm looking for opportunities to do outdoor shoots.
