If you want to go that route, best place to look is a website called ModelMayhem[dot]com. It's searchable by geographic area and the model profile usually states whether they are willing to work with newbies, their chaperone policies and most will give an idea of rates and compensation for travel time/expense. Some very good and very experienced models say they are willing to work with newbies (haven't tested this yet), but I'll give it a try in the summer when the weather is better and I can shoot outdoors.
