And now for something slightly different...

As I was grazing around my favorite troves, looking for pics to caption, I noticed a ton of beautiful gals posted in their lingerie. Nothing sexier than a naturally sexy woman in her undies, so I collected a few pics and made up a story.

It's markedly tame by our standards, but fun. I hope.

Stillman Street is a once-quiet little thoroughfare running through a once-quiet part of town that is now subject to the bustle of suburban sprawl.

For you see Stillman Street intersects Hohman Highway. Recently widened to six lanes, Hohman Highway now carries an enormous amount of traffic that inevitably backs up during busy hours.

This created two problems for the denizens of Stillman Street. It made it impossible to turn onto Hohman Highway, except after an interminable wait. And it created an unwelcome flow of traffic, as people caught in a Hohman Highway traffic jam sped down Stillman, hoping to find a shortcut around the tangled mess.

So last year, the men of Stillman Street did a fairly heroic thing.
They prevailed upon the town's traffic board to not only install a traffic signal at Hohman and Stillman, but also put down traffic "calming" bumps - speed bumps as some call them - on Stillman itself.

The ladies of Stillman Street were so delighted with the new calm and safe environment for themselves and their children, they decided to reward their husbands and neighbors with a rather unique treat.

The ladies of Stillman Street put together an Undies Calendar. Twelve of them agreed to pose in just their lingerie and surprise the men of Stillman Street with resulting calendar.

They settled on some fairly specific stipulations: Each gal could choose to be relatively modest. They were going for naughty, not vulgar.

At first, they were going to shoot the photos themselves, but realized they would have more fun and be more consistent if they had a single photographer for all twelve.

Of course, they needed all of the shooting to be done without the men's knowledge and they needed everything to be done discretely.

Well, baby, when you need discrete, you need Nobus. Due to some of my, shall we say, rather salacious exploits in town, I was known to one of the gals (I'm not saying which one), who reached out and offered me the gig.

Shooting 12 beautiful women in their undies? Right up my alley.

So we put things in motion. Set up a photo shoot with each gal in her home or in a place of her choosing. Based on a phone pre-interview, I agreed to bring each girl a set of lingerie matched to what I perceived about her personality.

As always, I made things very comfortable for them and, if I may say so, got the best out of them.

It was quite an experience. The girls were absolutely fabulous, all except one. (I won't say which.) Some were shy, some were very provocative, a couple downright flirtatious.

The resulting calendar was, as you might imagine, both titillating and disappointing. One one hand, the guys got to see 12 of their neighbors (and/or their spouses) in their underwear. And on the other, a little taste of this sort of thing always leaves a person wanting for more.

I hear next year the guys over on Abraham Avenue are going to try to get an empty lot converted into a public park.

That should be interesting.
