The primary purpose of splitting the thread is to draw more attention to the new thread -- if anything, furry fans get easier access to contributions, while at the same time non-furry fans can avoid looking at something they consider distasteful.
Also remember that this thread was split off from the Anime/Manga thread so that the respective threads could focus on sharing contributions of one type.
Telling people to "suck it up" isn't a convincing argument against making life easier for everyone.
