Parents Weekend
About once per semester, universities hold "Parents' Weekend," when the folks can visit campus and see what their humongous tuition checks are buying.
For the kids, it's often an exercise in drudgery, dealing with high maintenance, unwelcome "guests." For their parents - and often their friends and roommates - it's a chance to cut loose a bit and have some fun.
