In movies there's a lot of that. Tinto Brass is a pretty good example with the normal versions being soft and the 'director's cut' including harder, or more explicit scenes. Most of that was done with editing, however. Music videos are also a great example with a soft version being shot for USA TV and a version with nudity being done for other parts of the world.
