When it became known, Lewis' UK/Euro tour was canceled before it began, and he was blacklisted from US radio. The results nearly ended his musical career entirely.

the actual facts, it seems 13-16 year old marriages were
far more the exception than the rule for well over 100 years in the US. Do you have any actual facts that indicate differently?
