Thank you. Much of the quality is about using top quality professional equipment. All of these pictures were taken with Canon 1-series bodies through Canon L-series lenses. There is a real difference in quality between an L lens and a non-L Canon lens and lenses made by the secondary manufacturers. The same holds true for Nikon and its series of pro quality lenses. My secret weapon, if you will, is a Quantum turbo external flash battery. With the Quantum I can bang off frame after frame with less than one second flash regeneration rates. I can get multiple frames during the few seconds that a woman is in the perfect posture vs. maybe one frame if I had to depend on my flash's onboard batteries. And with all of those balcony railings to screw up focus, quantity is very important. And the final thing is the punchline to the old "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" joke.
