Ok here are three pictures that are recently found which I censored, however they must have been done and uploaded in a hurry as the details under the blacked out areas are still visible. This was proabaly done where the "opacity" of the mask was not set to 100%.
These are perhaps the easiest type of picture to reveal and just rely on some basic skill in photoshop.
  • First use the square marque tool and cover the area in question. if a random shapes then use the wand or lasso
  • Copy the area
  • Paste it back so it falls ontop of the same area (cutting may drop it to the left or right and you will have to reallign)
  • This will now be a new layer
  • Working on the new layer adjust the levels by adjusting the slide bar until you get a fair match
  • Now adjust the colour balance and brighteness/contrast
  • With a bit of practice you should get something you are happy with
  • Tidy up and delete the edges if you lassoed too large an area
  • Flatten the image and save as a JPG
  • then upload

Note that this method will only work if the censored blocks are not completely solid
