Adding to the previous poster's points, even if these "incidents" occurred decades ago, in this day and age, those who allegedly performed or engaged in those activities may one day find themselves under the national spotlight. Just look at the new about Penn State and Syracuse and even the U.S. Republican presidential candidacy race. Not a pretty sight.

Sometimes I think the news, media and (American) societal values have become more and more uptight as we go into the 21st century. We have made great progress in many other aspects of life/inequalities (still not perfect), but nudity, sex and other erotic activities still tend to be frowned upon, treated as taboo and criminalizing (sometimes for the right reasons, other times maybe not so).
