The trouble with some file hosts is they have schemes that pay back people who upload based on the downloads (and advertisement views
) that they generate. As a result, SPAMMERS just love to post those links everywhere. That's why we have chosen to ban/censor the URLS of sites that use this sort of "pay per download" scheme. It protects us from a lot of unwanted SPAM. I would not recommend trying to post URLs to any of those sites with clever misspelled names. It will irritate the MODS and they will simply delete that kind of post.
As far as free hosts go, these days we do recommend uploading with
multiupload.com
