They come from various sources: HCG from hentai games (which would explain why the quality is so good), screencaps from anime series, doujinshi (fan created manga based on a given series), artwork of a given series by the fans or professional artists, orginal artwork by professional artists who haven't created a series, manga scans, official artbooks, etc.
