Need help converting vids from pc to mac
 

I now have a mac and a lot of my files, both my miccrosoft word files with doc exts won't convert but more importantly a lot of my movie files won't convert, especially php exts.

I figure I need a program to convert the video files but I don't want to buy one that doesn't work. Any suggestions? Plus I can convert my word docs but it takes forever and apple keeps telling my word files should convert automatically. At least my photos converted automatically.

Anyway any help on converting those video files or what program to buy or program or codecs to download would be great. Plus any help with the word docs converting to pages files would help because now that you have a story section I do have some fiction and non fiction stories. Especially two good non fiction tube top stories.
