URLs with X's

Lately, I've noticed that many URL links on OCC are being posted with X's, instead of T's (ie; hxxp://). Is there a reason for this, and should I be posting my links this way?

Real good question,,,I can't wait to hear an answer!

Often it's to avoid hotlinking; I know that's a pain for you to link, but there are an increasing number of sites that, when they see hotlinks coming from sites like this one, delete or make private what's being linked, or pressure the posters at their sites to do so. The extra keystroke or two you're forced to make keeps those items available to all us pervs a little longer, so I for one applaud it...

the xx in links is to stry stop spammers. You need to have an amount of posts on your account, before the url's will show correctly. I cannot remember off hand, the amount needed, but 10 seems to ring a bell.
If a member tries just posting a lot of quick one line posts, in order to able to post links, then their posts will be deleted.
Hope this info helps,

CP: While your response is correct for those with few posts, and I should probably have included that as possible explanation in my previous post, I answered as I did because I perceived lonmol to be asking about the phenomenon I addressed: the recent appearance of LOTS of url listings that, due to substitution of some characters, won't hotlink. These are often provided by those who, like myself, have more than enough posts to list full urls; for the reason I cited, however, we (or occasionally other moderators, intervening with an edit) deliberately make that change.

crispus,
both of our replies should be useful to other members who read this thread, that also wonder about the urls.
So thankyou for your input also
