Rhona Mitra NIP in "Secret Agent Man"

I love Rhona Mitra. She is gorgeous. And I love public nudity. So I don't know how this has escaped me this long.

Rhona Mitra once appeared on a TV show called "Secret Agent Man" that aired on UPN in 2000. She appeared on an episode titled "Supernaked" which should have set off bells with me.

Here is the brilliant episode recap:

Quote:

Pagnol, a brilliant scientist, is using the Paris fashion industry as cover to demonstrate the abilities of the super-model/super-soldiers he has created. DNA and chemically enhanced, they are backed up an internal monitoring system that can also be used to control them. The hitch is that they only live for six months. Pagnol's goal: sell the disposable assassins to the highest bidder, and to prove their superiority he sends them after the Agency's brass. And then Monk.
Anyway, she is one of the supermodels under mind-control of Pagnol. Here is the clip of her invading some facility. But of course, she has to get by the "bioscanners"! Which means she has to do so totally naked. Then she "attacks" a guy by getting on all fours naked and crawling towards him. Its on TV, so no nudity, but sexiness and silhouettes and good stuff like that.

for real? No nudes on TV?

What about movies? Lots of films have nudity in them- is it all censored? In some stuff, such as that one with Hillary Swank where she pretends to be a boy, it's essential to the plot.

It depends. On premium pay-cable - HBO, Showtime, Cinemax - there is nudity. The FCC cannot limit them. Shows like Californication, The Tudors, Sex in the City, The Sopranos - all had lots of nudity and "profane" language.

On network TV (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, UPN), there is pretty much no nudity. You will see a bare bum here or there, but its a big deal if they show a breast (you may have heard how everyone freaked out about the Janet Jackson bare breast at the Super Bowl).

On basic pay cable (channels like E!, MTV, Comedy Central), nudity is a bit more relaxed than on network TV - they may show naked women, but the naughty bits will be blurred out or blocked out, but still no uncensored nudity.

Movies are usually changed to edit out nudity and bad language, which can make some movies laughably awful. Try watching "Goodfellas" sometime where gangsters say "freak you, you mother hugger!" Its hilarious.

Whats "network TV"- is that the TV thats broadcast free to everyone?

In the UK, we don't get free TV. We need to pay a licence to own a TV, which funds BBC. There are also free channels, ITV (which is channel 3) Channel 4 and Channel 5.

From the mid 80s (I think,) there was also Satillitte TV- dish was needed, but some channels were free, others were pay channels. Then there came many more free channels with digital.

I think the rules for nudity are the same for all- after the 9pm "watershed" it's OK (within limits) , same with f words etc.

there are pay "adult" channels, but for years what they could show was just the same as any other channel (no erections, labia etc) , but it has been changed a little (but not greatly) in recent years.

You can't show pornos on non-adult TV, but can have the same "level" of nudity.

Yea, network TV is free TV. I think technically anything goes after 11pm or so, but rarely do channels ever show nudity after that hou.

Occasionally, nudity or foul language will be allowed if it has a more "sophisticated" purpose. PBS will show nudity for nature shows about tribal cultures, and once they even showed nudity in an episode of "Steambath." "Saving Private Ryan" aired on ABC unedited (with violence and foul language) on Memorial Day, although even THAT drew criticism. Schindler's List was once aired on network TV unedited (with nonsexual nudity), and THAT drew criticism. Yea, some people really freak out about silly stuff.

Personally, I would much prefer to have "anything goes" after 9pm and have them clean up everything before that. There is a lot of sexual innuendo, violence in commercials and erectile-dysfunction ads that air during the day, when my kids ACTUALLY ARE watching TV (as opposed to 10pm when most of these racy shows air). I'd rather have them get rid of that and let us adults watch as much sex, nudity, violence and foul language as we want when the kiddies are in bed.
