naked or nude
Hello everyone. Thanks for the excellent site.
I'm trying sometimes to find own stuff and post here by trying to find stuff through google and other sites, but since english is not my mother language I have a question about the words "nude" and "naked". What is the difference of the words? In my language we only have one word for nude/naked. My experience of googling tells me that I usually find ruder and more hardcore pictures when I google on "nude" and usually more nicer stuff (which I find more interesting) when I google on "naked". Am I wrong when I think that "naked" is a nicer and more innocent word than "nude"? |
naked or nude really do mean the same thing. The searchs you do, probably depend on the wording on the actual site the images are hosted on. Hope this explains,

"Naked" means "uncovered." It can also mean "undisguised" , and can sometimes mean "in itself natural state"
So we talk about a "naked flame" the "naked facts" and "the naked eye". "Nude" more specifically means "without clothes" , and is typically used in specifically human contexts- although it does also apply to statues (of humans.) |

"nude" tends to be more artistic type- although it CAN be Sleazy too. |
