The Best of Kerri Kenney from "The State" - Sexy Comedy

Kerri Kenney is probably best known as the intentionally homely Deputy Trudy Wiegel from the (recently cancelled) Comedy Central show "Reno 911!". And if that's all you know her from, prepare to be amazed. Kerri was one of the 11 members of the legendary sketch comedy troupe "The State", and the only female member. The long-anticipated DVD set of their MTV show from the early 90s recently came out, so I picked up a copy because, as a comedy fan, I've wanted to see it for a while (If you're a comedy fan too, I'd highly recommend seeking out a copy. It's "legendary" and "long-anticipated" for a reason.). I also took the opportunity to cap all of Kerri's sexiest moments from the series and bonus features. Every single video in this thread was capped by me. All of the videos will be posted in roughly chronological order of episodes, with the bonus stuff at the end, so if you don't see something you like right away, keep following the thread, as some of the better stuff may be posted towards the end.

To start, I'm just going to post one video tonight, because it's the largest and longest one (an entire sketch). It's a live sketch from the very first episode in which Kerri is a bikini mudwrestler. More coming tomorrow. Just as a preview, the rest of the stuff is all non-nude (pokies, bikinis, and the like). So, fair warning, no nudity here, but a fair amount of non-nude sexiness.

I've never actually seen the show, but now that I've watched "The State", I'm intending to watch pretty much everything else these people have done. So, I'll be starting on "Reno 911" hopefully soon.

Loved the censored/hidden nudity ones.

Shortly before finishing the DVDs, I visited The State's official website and found these two delightful artifacts. The first is a scan from an ancient issue of Mademoiselle magazine, in which all of the members are naked and covered by states. Kerri got Florida.

The second is an unfortunately censored picture from the long-defunct Big Stinkin' International Improv & Sketch Comedy Festival, May 23, 1997, in Austin, Texas. This was their last public performance before they reunited for a special event earlier this year. At first I thought it was a picture of them changing on stage before the audience got there, but no. According to this article:

Lennon & Garant came to Austin years ago with most of the other members of The State to perform at the late, lamented Big Stinkin' Improv Festival. I got my copy of the ridiculously useless travel guide State by State with The State signed and then saw them perform that night. At one point, the troupe moved off the stage, ostensibly to change costumes, while member Ken Marino stayed behind and chatted with the audience. Instead of leaving the stage though, the performers stopped and starting taking off their clothes down to their underwear, all while Marino continued to obliviously talk about...something, but at this point who was paying attention to him?

While the near-naked members ambled about, quietly talking amongst themselves, Marino pulled out a disposable camera and encouraged the audience to squeeze in so he could take a picture. At the count of three, he snapped the picture and on the other side of the stage, the underwear came off. Despite the long set-up, it was still a surprise. I doubt the Paramount Theater will ever again have so much exposed genitalia again. At the time I distinctly remember thinking, "Dang. The one guy I've wanted to see naked is the only one who isn't. Dang." Still, hilarious. The crowd went nuts crazy. There were more than a few people with videocameras in the audience, so if anyone has access to a recording of it, please let me know.

Somehow, I feel that knowing that Kerri went completely naked, live on stage, for the sake of comedy, makes everything else in this thread irrelevant. I suppose we should be lucky to have photographic evidence of the sketch, but man, I'd love to see the video of it. Or to have been there in person.
