Lunchtime publicity stunt: "Ask me why I'm naked"

Cosmetics show off their aprons - and behinds - on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Westlake Center in Seattle.

A lunchtime publicity stunt by employees of Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics caused quite a stir in Westlake Park today. Six women from the shop in Westlake Center handed out literature promoting their unpackaged soaps and cosmetic products and pointed out the impact that packaging used by other brands has upon the environment.

The women handing out the literature were wearing only aprons, and showing off the rest.

Television cameras, pedestrians armed with cell phone cameras and I, with an assignment from my editor and a digital camera, documented the scene of almost nude women and startled pedestrians.

After showing off their aprons, literature and bare behinds as they walked around Westlake Park the women retreated to their store after Police received 911 calls about indecent exposure in Westlake Park. The officers warned the girls they could be cited if they went back outside and did not cover their behinds.
