Thumbnails not loading?

So am I the only one who's having difficulty with photo thumbnails not loading? For instance, just to pick a random thread:

forum.oneclickchicks.com/showthread.php?t=64534&highlight=ireland

None of the thumbnails appear - I just get an empty box with the classic "red x" icon saying "click for larger image, etc." But...

-If I click on the empty box, the larger image does load.
-The attachments (=smaller pictures) do load on the original thread page.
-Thumbnails do load on some threads - about 1 success for every 4 failures.
-No other website I frequent is giving me trouble.
-My internet connection is as quick as always.
-A full virus scan of my computer found squat.

I can't find any discussion of this issue anywhere, and nothing in the FAQ seems to dicuss it. Any help?

About 2 weeks ago, we made changes to the way the thumbnails (that link to full sized images) are displayed, which made the speed of loading pages with lots of images much faster.

If you are seeing red X's even after hitting "refresh" on your browser, the problem is going to be related to your ISP or more likely, your browser settings. In your case, you probably need to clear your computer's DNS cache.

Depending on your operating system, try this:

Quote:

Windows

In Windows 98/2000/ME/XP, open a command prompt and type the following to clear the Windows DNS Resolver:

ipconfig /flushdns
Quote:

Mac OSX

In Mac OSX, open a command prompt and type the following to clear the DNS resolver cache:

dscacheutil -flushcache

In older versions, the command is:

lookupd -flushcache
So far, you are the first person to report having trouble with this. I hope this is an isolated problem.
If anyone else is experiencing persistent trouble with missing thumbnails, please let us know.

Thanks,

Firefox 3 Problems with Thumbs

I had been having problems with late versions of FF2 and new FF3. After weeks of trying to solve I finally worked it out:

- Go to Firefox url entry and entry "about:config" in the address line
- Discard the warnings but take care not to accidentally click anywhere on the page or you will change some settings
- Filter to "network.http.max-connections"
- Double click and then lower the figure from the default of 30 to 10
- Exit Firefox and reload.

Enjoy oneclickchicks in all it's Glory.
