One year ago this week........
 

.....an innocent young dad took his son for a ride though the aging Fremont District of Seattle, Washington, when SUDDENLY.....they found themselves smack in the middle of what appeared to be some sort of bizarre twilight zone. It was like a naked Rocky Horror Picture Show on bikes - an alternate reality filled with art and dreams and erotic fantasies come to life. It was.........the twilight zone otherwise known as the........

THE FREMONT SUMMER SOLSTICE PARADE!!

And father and son would NEVER be the same again....


Yes, parade time is Saturday at noon, and the latest weather forecast is MUCH improved over yesterday's! An approaching weather system has weakened and slowed and rain is forecast to hold off until Saturday night. So lets keep our fingers crossed!

I am planning on covering the back end of the parade only (Gaswork Park). I think I can get lots of good shots of both riders and posers there, but I do not expect output for me to be like previous years. We have an overabundance of bike pics going round now anyway, so hopefully that is OK. Stay tuned...

Yes there may already be an overabundance of pics around, but,.. i can't recall any parade matching Fremont in color, costume, glamour(hi torre :D) etc...

There just seems to be a higher level of dedication with this crowd,..which have resulted in fabulous photograpths taken of which you've taken plenty of in the past :)

I'll be there camera in hand as well!

Let's just hope the Flikr shots are up with last years...and (unlike WNBR) they do not mainly feature the male riders! If you can get there, please take photos, these people on the ride ENJOY this, they are happy to be photographed, and IMHO you can never have enough naked girls riding bikes in public!
