photobucket deleted my account due to breaking tos

but the files were all private files

do u guys typically save yours to a hard drive or photo storage site like pb?

i guess even if they're private they can be TOS'd

anyone else ever have this happen?

I imagine somewhere in p-buckets TOS will be a rule against adult material. Even though it may be a private acct p-bucket staff will still be able to access it.

Normally, everything goes to my computer hard drive, and then I later transfer it to an external hard drive (I just bought one that has 1 Terabyte of storage, but you'd be surprised how quickly that fills up).

I wouldn't put anything on a photo storage site unless I didn't mind losing it, primarily because sites like PB seem to randomly purge any adult content from user accounts.

true
i mean it was a collection of my fav self shots and ironically pb finds but nothing i cared about too deeply.

yeah problem is, this isn't my computer. it's shared.
so no bad stuff saved on the hard drive.

and ill make another account, see what happens.
also ill look at the tos and post what i find for others and future reference.

Part 1: Description of Services

Also, although Photobucket will normally only delete Content that violates this Agreement, Photobucket reserves the right to delete any Content for any reason, without prior notice.

Part 5: Restrictions

You will not do any of the following while using or accessing the Site or the Services:

a. Post, upload, email, or otherwise transmit (i) any Content that you do not have the lawful right to copy, transmit and display (including any Content that would violate any confidentiality or fiduciary obligations that you might have with respect to the Content); (ii) any Content for which you do not have the consent or permission of each identifiable person in the Content to use the name, voice, signature, photograph, or likeness of each such person

e. Post, upload, email, or otherwise transmit, via the Site or Services, any Content that is unlawful, obscene, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or hateful, or that contains objects or symbols of hate, invades the privacy of any third party, contains ***nudity or pornography*** (including without limitation any child pornography or child erotica), is deceptive, threatening, abusive, inciting to unlawful action, defamatory, libelous, vulgar or violent, or constitutes hate speech, or is otherwise objectionable in the opinion of Photobucket;

***that's probably where they got me.

What about photofile.ru? I know it's a Russian site, but, they're in English now too, and I can't recall that they've ever seemed to have a problem with nudity. Not that I know many people who have used it. There Nu-Art section has nudity in it and there's a link to it on the front page, so, I would guess there wouldn't be a lot of problems.

Also, it didn't occur to me until just now, but, you can always use an email account for picture storage. It depends on your needs of course. If you want to be able to view the pictures, that's not the best choice. If you just need a place to store files, it might not be a bad idea to attach images to a message and then email it to yourself. Internet Explorer lets you email images, so, nothing would ever even have to go on the hard drive if you didn't want it to. Alternatively, if you're a Firefox Fan, you could always buy a cheap flash drive to temporarily store images on until you get a chance to email them to yourself. Best Buy has a 1 GB flash drive for about 11 bucks:

Gmail has a 1 or 2GB limit. Supposedly Yahoo email accounts have unlimited storage.

Anyway, just a thought.

saving it to email seems like a hassle really

but that other site, may be worth a try.

i've only now uploaded 20 pics to my new PB account so its not too late.

thanks!

Flickr might also be a good choice. They don't delete nudity, and you can make a private account.
