The 15-Minute Edit Limit
 

Alex, why is there a 15 minute limit on editing? And can it be changed?

We set a 15 minute limit on editing posts so people can't change their messages or attachments after others have responded to a thread. It could cause continuity problems, or worse yet people could change their attachments to something offensive or something that breaks the forum rules even after their post has been read by the moderators.

One last thing I should have mentioned. If anyone has an important reason that one of their posts needs to be edited or deleted, they can contact us and we will gladly make the change for them. This should only be done when it is absolutely necessary.
