Once upon a time there were 5 sisters. The oldest was a Harvard professor named Florinda. She was a good wife, who only slept with one man, and that was usually her husband, Richard.

The second sister was Dido, named after the Carthaginian queen. Dido was a wild young lady who lived in Las Vegas.

The third sister was Sandra, a young wife who lived in Europe with her rich oil magnate husband.

The fourth was Belinda, a single girl who was very shy. She longed to meet a good man who would marry her. Her search had taken her to Sicily.

The youngest was Virgine. She wasn't a virgin anymore, but that's the name she was stuck with. She was a student of Japanese art in Portland.

One day, Florinda decided to visit Sandra. She hopped a plane and in a trice was knocking on Sandra's door. "Come in," shouted Sandra. "I'm in the shower." Florinda opened the door, dropped her bags and walked into the bath to talk to her sister as she bathed. "You know dear," said Florinda, "if you don't stop scarfing down the canoles, you are going to be fat."
