calling on all bilingual OCC members

Hi guys. This is a little experiment. I would like to compile a list of OCC members that speak major languages other than English. If you can read this E-mail, then you are also fluent enough in English to qualify.

Major languages of interest are: Spanish, French, German, Russian, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegan, Italian, japanese, Chinese, Hungarian, Czech, Romanian, Danish. Other languages are OK too.

Here is my VERY short list to start:

Ceewee - presumably speaks Dutch
BiBiBaby - Spanish
Natu85 - French

By responding to this E-mail with the language that you speak (and what country you live in), that means you agree to make yourself available to the group to answer occasional pms or posts on topics such as "how do I register for this site", what are some good search terms, what websites in your language do you like, etc, etc. In exchange, I (or we) will shower you with gratitude and come visit you next summer (just kidding). Seriously, it is also my hope to get to know some of you a little better. Just name your reward - I have a pretty big collection of pics and vids.

thanks! Lets see how many languages we can knock off my list :) I am going to keep bumping this thread until I get some replies.

thanks, Showoffzzz.

This a minor correction, but of course i meant "by responding to this thread" not "by responding to this E-mail".

Just to be perfectly clear and those reading this may not have a perfect understanding of English. Perhaps a mod could make this change -

One that I know of is: http://www.translation-guide.com/fre...h&to=Swedis h

Fairly reliable translations from/to English and some reasonably rare languages to find good translators for - Swedish, Finnish, Croatian, Russian, Polish and Welsh (!) plus many others. I've used it before and people who spoke those languages could understand me. Nothing beats a native speaker though. :)

Yes, i would recommend that before anyone calls on an OCC specialist for help, they first exhaust the possibilities offered by translation sites. Translation sites are good for membership registration and for decifering sites you've already found. OCC specialists would be better at helping with slang, vernacular and also in finding new sites.

Hey, guess I qualified or rather am well over-qualified...I was able to read and (what's even more) understand it. Do I get two visits from you now or what? ;)

I can assist with German (as my mother tongue) and French (having lived in France for a while). Hope this helps a bit.

Portugese! I knew there was another language I wanted to get. So Hilocrc is trilingual. Thats going over and above the call of duty. :) Thanks, guy - now do you have any friends over there in Russia? We knock Russian down and were well on our way to having our "team" assembled. :)
