Sixth Annual No Pants Subway Ride with 300 trouserless New Yorkers participating.
The outlaw event is becoming as venerated and looked-forward-to as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
But will it ever be televised?

This event is organized by the comedy group Improv Everywhere. The idea is that a bunch of people show up on a single subway train without pants and pretend it's not unusual and that it's just coincidence that everyone else has no pants either. It's a pretty fun event. I participated in 2007 (the people were arrested in 2006, btw, but the charges were dropped). It's fun for ENF because you get a lot of girls that are nervous about stripping off their pants in public, but you also get a lot of hot exhibitionists who show up in fishnets and thongs etc. There's a ton of pictures if you look on flickr for "improveverywhere" "no pants 2k7" or "no pants subway ride".

From the pics and accounts I found, it seemed that the men outnumbered the ladies 4-5 to 1.

Were there a lot of girls that participated? (M/F ratio)

Is there a No Pants Subway ride scheduled for 2008?

There were probably more guys than girls, but I wouldn't say as much as 4-5:1, maybe 2:1 or so. I don't know if there's a hard date for no pants 2k8, but it's more than likely. They've been doing it for a while and Improv Everywhere's still going strong.

as an addendum to the description, not sure if it happens every year, but i know it's happened that at a certain subway stop, someone will get on with a bag of pants yelling out "pants for sale! slightly used pants for sale!!" in which a few people will then "purchase" pants from them muttering things like "not sure where my head was this morning... just walked out without my pants... good thing you came by, i was just on my way to work"
