checking in

Back in early March, I developed some serious health problems and have been unable to work the past month. You may have noticed I disappeared rather abruptly. Things don't look real good. A few of you know a little about the nature of my problems. Now, my heart seems to be showing signs of not being able to handle all the stress.

So I'd like to be able to say I'll be back soon postin' and downloadin', but I don't think I'll ever be able to return to the level of activity I once had here. Things got so bad three weeks ago that I threw my back up hard drive in the trash, and almost did the same to my main hard drive. So I came close to throwing out every damn pic and vid I have figuring i was toast anyway.

Thankfully, today thing have improved, but its not likely I will be able to cover this years Fremont parade or any other events. Anyway, its been fun and I've enjoyed every minute I've spent here. Hopefully, you all have enjoyed having me, too. The good news is that, as mcp1275 knows, bad health does not necessarily prevent one from surfing, and in fact, may allow you to spend more time on line than you would be able to otherwise. So, we'll see what happens as boredom and incapacitation begins to take its toll.:)

regards,

klondike

Really sorry to hear that klondike. Health always comes first. Hope you manage to get over your problems and get back to fighting fit soon.

Take it easy and see you back here when you feel up to it!

Hate to hear that. Just do what you know is the thing to do: keep on as best you can as long as you can. When you have to, you compromise. But always keep going and enjoying what you have. Best of luck.

Christ, Klondike, I wondered why you disappeared but I never suspected it was a health problem, let alone one that sounds so serious. :( My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery.

I'd wondered where you'd gone too. A few of our regular posters seem to have left, but I never even considered it was something so serious. Get healthy dude, nothing is more important than health. :)

Concentrate on getting well again Klondike, and please remember that there will always be a place for you here at OCC.

Hope thing's improve for you and take care.

keep the spirits up guy

really feel for you buddy
i think i said before
i have congestive heart failure
i was diagonosed in 2000
it has no chance of getting better without getting a new heart
but the good news is once you can adjust to your problem and get the medication right
it becomes doable
depression and anxiety and stress develop when you lose control over what your body can do
since then i have quit driving due to stress
but since 2000 last year 2006 was the first year with no hospital visits
also don't be embarrassed to ask the dr for medication to help with stress and anxiety and depression
i have just started taking zanax and and an anti depressant and it helps
biggest problem is boredom because of lack of things i can do
the internet allows me to go places i can't anymore but when when you spend 12 to 14 hours a day
on here after a month it gets boring and thats why i periodotically leave
just hang in there and do what you feel like
best advice learn what you can, never give up hope, remember no one but you realyy understands
your body but you,(no matter how close they are ), use common sense and keep enjoying the moments you can
your wit and humor have been a great tonic to me
all the best and if nothing else you can have the goal of keeping us other perverts happy

2 things i forgot to say

1. getting use to the pay decline can be hazardous
until you adjust i went from 500+ take home pay
to 225 a week sick leave to 720 a month on social security after medicare
probably cause i was only 47 at the time

2. but trying not to be morbid but the worse that can happen is you die
and i never had anyone come back and tell me that is worse than here
and my condition affects my breathing and oxygen to my system
sometimes you wish it would just get done with
my condition hundreds of people die every day
and i feel as good now as i did when i got sick

3. thats why never despair and give up hope
always believe it will be better tomorrow or 10 minutes from now
learn the limits, learn how to make your life better and still enjoy it

4. drs see a lot of patients with the same thing all the time
they are not god and what works for a hundred people may not work for you
don't be afraid to tell them

5. i have every confidence with your spirit, attitude, and sense of humor
once you get thru the adjustment period you will be just fine
and like the one commercial says there is no expiration date stamped on your foot

6. i know i went on and on but you are just about my best friend if even only thru the board
pm me i can help any or you just want to tell or yell at someone

best wishes

I've been thinking about you a lot mcp1275. Almost as much as I've been thinking about my heart :)

I definately want to stay in contact with you, so don't go anywhere (heh heh, thats a joke :)) Seriously, you are a good friend and now perhaps a source of aid and comfort as well. Keep talking to me, buddy. I'll probably pm you shortly - folks here probably don't need to know every detail.

Anyway, gotta run now - doctors appointments today. I'm in learning mode these days. Lets see what they got for me today....:)

thanks again to you and all who have responded :)
