question for the mods
 

hey guys- just wanted to know if my posting vids with no caps causes you extra work or is a pain in any way. i really appreciate how stony and other members jump in to cap for me but if it's a big problem i can stick to pics. someday i'll invest in a newer computer but right now with all my business stuff and trying to post for you guys i'm lucky to have 200-500 mb free on the hd some days so i don't want to take up any room with extra software.
anyway, let me know what you think and absolutely no problem or hard feelings either way.

I can't speak for the other guys, but the Mods aren't obligated to make caps for anybody. I personally don't (or, I should say, I rarely do), because I think people should be making their own caps, as it's very easy to do it yourself if you just take the 5 minutes to learn how to do it. Obviously in your case it's a bit different, as (in the majority of cases) you do need at least one new piece of software.

Anybody is welcome (and encouraged) to make caps for anyone's capless videos, but, as I said, the Mods are not required to do so. If they do it, it's out of their own generosity, and being a Mod has nothing to do with it. All that being said, I hope people take it upon themselves to make caps for every video that they post. It helps the Mods to moderate, and lets everybody know what a video is.

thanks for the reply, fango. i wasn't under the impression that you were obligated to make my caps. i just wanted to know if it was a problem for you guys to have me posting without them. so far a lot of people on the board have been generous enough to provide them and i thank them for it. i guess i just wanted to make sure i wasn't hassling anyone if i continue to post vids. thanks again.

Hi gd. Every once and a while, I don't mind providing caps. As a mod we have to download the vids anyway to check 'em out; it is easy to cap them at that point. If we have to provide caps for everyone though, that would create a lot more work for us. Capping by the original posters is appreciated; capping by members other than the OP's to help out those who do not have the capability or knowledge is appreciated too. :)
