I made three vidcaps of each clip.

I'm not sure, but they played fine for me with Windows Media Player.

What OS and player are you using? I don't understand why you would get that error when playing an mpeg.

I don't usually have problems with codecs but all the videos on this page i can't view.
Does anyone know what codec is required to watch these because links to sites with hundreds of codecs doesn't help unless I know what i'm looking for.

Theres a free program called avicodec that analyses video files and tells you what codec it uses. It can be downloaded from this site:

I checked the files in this thread and the codec you need to view all the files is the MPEG2 codec which is used to watch DVDs and SVCDs.
