Anyone know of freeware for getting specific parts of a DVD on the computer
For instance rip just one minute of the DVD to avi or mpeg or some other format.

You can try this by using DVDx and then editing it with VirtualDub. Both programs are free. I have never tried it though.

You will also need to install the AC-3 ACM codec from that page, in order to get sound from the DVD. If you have any problems with all the settings for compression, screen res and audi compression, I can make you a .VCF file with the settings, and you can use that each time you use virtualdub, to save having to program it each time. If ya need help, just send me a private message, regards CP. |
Thanks celeb peeper. I've been using Virtual Dub for years, but seldom look for updates
based on the "if it ain't broke" theory. I should pay more attention. BTW, I lost the version that worked with wmv files when a drive crashed. Any hints? |
