Thanks, mcp1275! - I have a problem with some AVI files, though - some play, some don't. This one doesn't :(
Its unpredictable - even some AVI movies of mine that used to play now don't, and vice versa.

love to see the clip and thanks for remembering (and maybe I/we can work something out to get it playing...?)

Same here, lots of recent stuff isnt playing for some reason. First time I ever had trouble :/

try renaming
 

taking the .flv out of it
older versions ofmedia player didn't like also the updates didk't either
got the vid from you tube
was able tob put in in wmv format too and mpeg
but you had too move the cursor down about halway before it started playing
also lost my sound
if you want i can put that version up and see if it works for you

it's working also with .avi ...
 

it's working also with .avi : i am using k-lite mega codec pack !

I should have better luck with either the wmv or mpeg version. No sound is OK. I'll check back Tues (or maybe go to you tube)- I'm off to the WNBR in Seattle :)

other version- mpg
 

in windows media player you have to click to about the 8 second mark before it starts playin
then you can go back to close to the start
and then there is no sound
