A Wondrous Banquet

Life is a wondrous banquet,
and I am one of many guests.
I cherish the spot
where I have been invited to sit
and take delicious delight
in all the palatable pleasures offered me.
My mouth is mindful of each morsel.
I chew slowly,
letting my tongue touch
and my palate feel
each and every flavoured fabric;
all the while noticing that like Life,
as the texture changes,
so does the taste.
Be the repast humble or grand
I savour all... I enjoy all...
for I know all too well
I may not be invited tomorrow.
