I live in an area surrounded by high rises with balconies. It's amazing to see what goes on on these balconies. Disclosure:The following pics were found on the net and they are fairly good examples of what I have seen over the years.

Enclosed Balcony
 

This balcony can be used year-round. It has glass that goes from the top of the balcony to the ceiling so it is fully enclosed with a baseboard heater.
