Definitive way of saving YT videos
 

I know there's a sticky up there, but it was last updated 10 years ago. And it's closed.

What is the best way to download and save YT videos? I'm trying to save the ISIS nude fashion show clips. Unless they're still available somewhere on the forums here. Someone mentioned 4K Video Downloader but I haven't been able to get it to work (it's as if it doesn't allow adult content). I also tried some of the other things mentioned like clipconverter.cc and freemake.

It's been many years since I last downloaded videos (they take up too much space on my harddrive). I used to use Clipconverter (I think it's a German company). But, I think they stopped allowing adult content a few years ago.

The only downside is that it retitles the video for the filename, so you have to copy and paste the title from YouTube if you want to maintain it.

I've gotten 4K Downloader to work, it's my go-to, but YT is constantly changing things, so sometimes I go in and things are broken, but soon after, an update will come down and everything will work again. For the Age-Restricted videos, you'll need to enter an account like you're logged into YT.

i know that this may be a bit more "techie" than some would like, but i like yt-dlp. it's command-line and more work than the sites that keep coming and-going, but it's always there and seems to always work...

i have a mac and use homebrew as my package manager. i just keep it up to date and that's that.

I appreciate this. I've downloaded the program and read through the documentation, but I'm still stuck on the age verification. You will be surprised to learn that many of the videos I wish to download are age-restricted.

The command line offers solutions related to using a switch --cookies-from-browser and that says it's loading the cookies from the browser but it still hits the age verification wall. Do you have a standard command line you use for this that I can just copy?
