What is special about OCC? - what does it have that other places don't?

There are loads of porn forums, with lots of user-contributed content, but OCC is the one I visit almost twice daily. For me, it is not just another porn site.
  1. it is relatively safe from misleading links
  2. lack of intrusive/misleading/dangerous adverts
  3. reasonable rules re thread classification, so you can find items relevant to your current tastes/interests
  4. because of the rules and moderation it is not as much of a wild West free for all, which quickly becomes unusable
  5. feels much more friendly than other forums - less like an online clip joint out to fleece you
  6. a good community of contributors - most (although not all) try to post material new to this forum
  7. different content to most other places

In my view, significant changes to the above would also kill this site.

If there were fewer contributors then the site would slowly starve and die.

What do others think?

Can't argue with or add to your post.

Everything you said, and also longevity: OCC will be 20 years old in February, and the vast majority of the content here is hosted on our own servers, so you can easily find and still download content posted in 2004 and on. Other sites, where older pictures and videos were hosted on file sharing sites that may no longer exist, are full of dead links past just a few years ago.

You can't search for all of a member's posts, though. Only a few hundred will come up.

I love the community here and the social interaction. Count those as second and third highlights to all of the lovely women posted. Our admin has run an incredible forum - free for most of us - for nearly 20 years and I think that is incredible. Our members make great contributions in an easily accessible format. Lastly, there's a conscious effort to respect copyrighted material and not denigrate women.

The only thing I can think of that I would add would be an off topic discussion forum where we could actually have discussions.

Religion, politics and sex in polite company

I've wondered about this too. My life is not all porn! and I also like to think and talk about RL. I have been in a few threads here which have been deleted or closed for getting too heated/political. It would have the advantage of containing our non-sexual urges.

But, looking at other porn sites where there is a General Discussion area; you get the usual back and forth as news sites, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit etc.. The danger is that many people unconsciously feel that because they share the same erotic interests and tastes with a fellow member, they emotionally assume that they will not be diametrically opposed to them on some political or social issue - and that can come as a nasty shock.

The political animus can spill over into the porn co-operation area. eg we have a heated discussion on say Trump, abortion, vaccination, "woke", Brexit, immigration, Russian propaganda, atheism ... and later, on a main thread, you ask for more information/pics on an erotic matter (which I have and other don't). Will I be as friendly as I was before our debate where we called each other idiots and share the pics/info?

I wonder if the relative friendliness and cooperation here is, in part, because we aren't allowed to discuss politics or religion - only sex.

You make some good points. I am admin on another forum that is nearing 500,000 members. I just looked and we are a little under 25,000,000 posts. It is a forum that is somewhat political in nature as in people that are interested enough to spend time on a forum devoted to what it is devoted to tend to lean strongly in a certain political direction. That said, we still have fighting over some of the examples you give. Even as locked down as we are here bad blood sometimes boils. I had someone blast me via PM last year for an observation I made based on my experience as a paramedic in terms of COVID.

I would love to be able to discuss more but am not sure how to keep it from getting political.
