Family nudity is it common ?
 

I'm not considering myself as a naturalist person but this actually happened to me few years ago.I was still in highschool and after I had really bad break up with my boyfriend my parents decided drove me to my aunt's farm.To make me feel better and make her a company during my summer break and to help her with chores.
She is my mom's much older sister and we're seeing her only when she's visiting us couple times in year.
So it was my first time visiting her farm and I was already mad because I couldn't spend summer with my friends.My parents left me there and after few days I was little shocked how little privacy I had.Because I actually found out that my aunt is most of the time home nudist and she's wearing some clothes only when she's going to the next town to buy supplies and groceries.
Long story short it took her not too much effort and time to convince me to join her naturalist life style.
So I spent whole summer there going naked around the farm and doing chores with my naked ass and tits fully on display for anyone to see.
Luckily except two of us and animals there was nobody else miles around the farm so I managed to save my modesty and pride.
At the end of the summer I was actually sad because I had to wear clothes again and wait until next summer to be home nudist again.
Aunt kept our secret and even today I'm missing those days..

I think casual nudity within families is very common, at least in this part of the world. I had a very conservative upbringing - never saw any of my family members naked. For a long time I thought this was the norm. But throughout the years I've had experiences and conversations that taught me otherwise.

The first time was in the early years of high school. I stayed the weekend at a friends place. We spend the whole evening and early parts of the night playing video and board games. The next morning my friend and I were in the bathroom brushing our teeth, having a conversation about the X-Men, when his older sister walked in.

She had a short conversation with us, but I didn't say much because I was too distracted by her only wearing a towel.

I didn't know where to look, so I turned around. But they had a big mirror in the bathroom, so I could clearly see her turning on the shower, loosening her towel and hanging it on a hook, I saw her completely naked when she entered the shower cabin and she just casually took a shower behind us.

And I was like: "WTF! Dude! Your sister! She's naked in the shower behind us! What the hell?!!" :eek:

He didn't like it of course. He wanted us to get out of the bathroom. But what has been seen can't be unseen! :p

For some families it's completely normal to see each other naked. They don't even bother locking the bathroom. It probably follows some sort of bell curve. On the left there are families like mine, who never see each other naked and on the right there families like that of my high school friend and my ex-girlfriend for whom it's completely normal to see each other naked (but they weren't nudists, nudist families would fall even further right, I guess). Most families fall in between. They don't see each other naked very often, but if it happens it's not a big deal.

My family was very modest when I grew up. I rarely caught a view of private parts and that was accidental.

Opposed to my family I experienced nudity in at least three other neighborhood homes.

My friend across the street, his family rarely wore any clothes in the house. It was a rule he stripped down in the "mudroom" as he entered the house. I got used to it, but never mentioned it to my family. The wife never wore more than underwear and I saw her many times completely naked. The dad would strip when he came in also, sometimes completely, but other times he left his briefs on.

Another neighbor (female/mother) would "babysit" me and other kids in the neighborhood. It was very common for her to bathe us kids and she would be naked. It was interesting when the girls got older and started to get pubes and larger nipples. Once they resisted she would allow them to bathe separately. Nothing ever sexual. Even the husband would walk back and forth from his bedroom naked. I believe I covered this in more detail in a long ago post.

Another house I saw from the door kids and adults nude, but I was never in the house.

Both extremes as well as anything in between ALL falls within "normal". Every family is different, every background is different, etc. The families you would think have the most privacy are the ones who run around naked, and the families you would think run around naked are the ones with utmost privacy!

We had a Catholic family being us growing up. My sister stayed there a few times and they all just walked around in underwear, half naked, fully naked between showers, etc. They had 8 people in the family living there with only three bedrooms and one bathroom. Privacy was scoffed at, I think.

My best friend through college was a quasi-nudist. His family lived on a lake, and clothing was very optional. His mom and 19yo sister were topless outside way more than having a top on.

My wife's family was mixed. My wife and her siblings were very conservative, hardly even seeing each other in pjs, but her mother was naked most of the time, often topless, and at the very least she never, ever wore a bra. And my wife's family is super religious alt-right, too, except my wife.

My cousins come from large families, and they would stay at our house and would even shower together to save time. Zero sexual; zero weird. Just saving time when 10 people needed to take a shower and get ready. I remember when my cousin and I were 18 (same birthday, even) and she took off her shirt, her bra, and put on pjs in front of me. She was so confused that I stared and froze in place--she had done the same thing in front of other family members her entire life and couldn't understand my reaction. Sadly, she was much more careful around me after that.

I used to be envious of families that were much more relaxed about nudist. I have always been a "closet nudist" until recently, and if I even saw my sister's brastrap, my mother lost her mind. One day my sister's nipples were poking through her pjs and my mom lost her mind and made my sister sleep in a bra under her pjs. My sister to this day still sleeps in a bra, and she is 45yo.

Family nudity is fairly rare
 

I guess that the level of nudity that my family and my wife's family have experienced is not very common. Over the years we have found only about 4 others who had similar nudist family experiences. Most of the other nudists that we know are recent converts and no other members of their families know that they enjoy home and social nudity.

Both of our families have been practicing fulltime nudist families since the 1950s. And we still are. Our parents had found the positive values and benefits of family and social nudism and felt that this lifestyle would teach us self confidence, to be nonjudgmental, and to respect others for who they were and not for what they had.

At home nudity was never mandatory but it was the norm. We did everything together as a nude family, including everyday activities like chores, homework, dinner or just relaxing. Depending on weather or visitors, there were times when no one was nude and times when some or all of us were nude.

Both of our houses were situated such that most of the property was not visible from the street and we could be nude anywhere inside and out. Both had a patio and a pool, perfect for outdoor clothes free living and entertaining.

Our parents went to great lengths to befriend nudist families and regular visits to the local nudist camps provided a good opportunity for that. We did attended the typical work, school and other textile related social functions fully clothed, but for the most part our social friends were other nudist families. And over the years we had many memorable nude birthday, graduation, Easter, dinners, wedding, and anniversary parties at our home and at our friends' homes. For all of these events nudity was not required but with very few exceptions almost everyone usually was.

Not in my family, I grew up with 3 sisters and I don't think I ever saw one in just a bra. My wife's family was more open, but not exactly nudists. My best friend Steve's family were very loose about casual nudity. He had 3 sisters, when I first started going to his house I was about 9, we were playing a board game and his 16 y/o sister walked into the kitchen where we were in just a bra and panties, I was stunned, I had never even seen one of my sisters like that. She ironed a dress in front of us while watching TV, Steve didn't pay any attention. I went to the beach with them once and I saw 2 of his sisters almost naked. Steve wasn't that much fun, but I sure liked to hang around with him.

I'm sure it's common all around the world because family members in most cases doesn't considering seeing other family members naked as something sexual.
My question to you is what was exactly your relationship with your aunt and how exactly did you spend your naked days together ?
Did you play or fool around with each other or was it only spending days together being only nude and nothing more ?

I'll try to answer your questions modestly and discretely as much I could following rules of this forum.
Well my relationship with my aunt didn't change because of our naturalist life style and she's still like a real mother to me and I was relaxed enough around her probably because we're both girls.
And our daily routine stayed almost the same whole summer,with getting up little bit early to have a breakfast and feed all animals on farm and do little gardening before sun is too hot(at the end of the summer I had perfect skin color without bikini lines even we both used regularly sun protection).
It was little bit awkward for me at the beginning doing gardening and being with all animals completely naked but after few days I get used to animals sniffing and licking my butt while I tried to feed them or clean mess they made.
Rest of a day we were usually spending resting naked out in backyard in a big shade of a tree on a big comfy blanket usually reading something or just having a nap.Or chilling together in a old big bath toob full of water she also placed in her backyard.
And about your question did we fool around I'll try to give you honest answer.Considering she's my aunt and family member of course nothing sexual ever happened between us.But we were open to each other enough so I got lots of advices from her about "birds and bees" and she even showed my few "tricks" how to make myself happy when boys are not around

My first wife told me when we were dating that her family would go to her grand mothers house and would skinny dip in the creek,she was in her teens and her brother and sisters were in their late teens and their parents were present but did not swim,I though she was lying but that same year she was in the bathroom with brother and both were nude,I could not believe she walked around nude infront of her brother and he did with her but thiesat proved it,years later when her teen nephew was staying with us all summer I asked him if it bothers him that his aunt walks around nude,he said no it's no different than my mom walking around nude,she always does.After a while I would also go nude in the pool with my sister in laws here and niece who was an adult then,one day long ago when I first heard of her stories I was home alone and my sister showed up with her hot friend deb,I was in the bathroom with the door open in a tiny apartment,I could see the kitchen plain as day in the china cabinet reflection,they came in and both stood in the kitchen as I dried off watching the two of them with half a woody,then I heard one of them say,look in the china cabinet you can see him.that was so great,years later my sister camer to the house and I was in the pool nude as I got out she got a good look at me and never said anything about I was nude.I always thought that was open with her and great.

One time I went to my cousin’s house and swam in their above ground pool. He and I were good friends but lived far apart so I’d only visit occasionally. His mom, my aunt (mom’s brother’s wife) was Portuguese. Late 30s at the time. Pretty, tall and slender. It got hot that day and she joined us in the pool. She got out and told us to come with her for lunch. We got inside and she was in the laundry room off the kitchen. It took me back when she suddenly pulled the straps of her one piece bathing suit down over her boobs and all the way to the floor stepping out of it. She had small boobs with dark nipples and a big black bush. She toweled off and put a long t shirt on over herself. And instructed us to change for lunch. We did and sat at the counter. My cousin didn’t seem to think anything of it. As she made lunch her butt was visible multiple times reaching into the cabinet. It was hard not to look. This was the only time I saw her nude but it was casual. Wish I had been able to visit more often.
