Woman Loses Pants During NYC Fire Rescue
 

A woman was rescued from a burning building in Manhattan this month. Thankfully, neither her nor anyone else died or sustained serious injuries - but the poor woman was caught on video losing her pants and revealing her thong-clad ass to the world as she dangled from the 20th-story ledge.

This type of photo always make me feel a little guilty, but the real life EUF/ENF is the best there is (and the rarest). There was a video online a few years ago of a woman's pants and underwear getting pulled off by the current during a water rescue. There was the famous plane crash video of the hot stewardess being rescued from icy waters by a helicopter, with her skirt whipping open from the wind. I believe there are still photos of a hostage rescue in the late 70's of a group of flight attendants who ran across the tarmac in their bras and panties. The completely naked female hostage in the Hong Kong police rescue photos a few years ago (they're on OCC). And of course, the Olathe KS bank robbery in 2005, where the female bank employees were chained together, and publically paraded in their underwear during the gunman's escape (some of the videos/photos are here on OCC).

No. It was taken down online, but I believe the clip is on one of those disaster video television programs.

I can't help but wonder if this isn't crossing a line, sharing pictures of a woman unclothed due to experiencing a traumatic event, regardless of whether anyone was seriously hurt in the incident, and that this is why the pictures were initially blurred.

A comment in this thread exacerbated this point for me, seeming to celebrate also the existence of footage of hostages, stripped under threat of death, and also a crash victim.

As much as I enjoy ENF content usually, I feel like there's a huge difference between someone who lost a bet, or posing voluntarily for a charity calendar for example, than someone stripped against their will and in extremely distressing circumstances.

Am I alone in feeling that this is a 'dark side' to ENF/EUF that I'm not entirely comfortable with, where our empathy for a fellow human being in a terrible situation must always outweigh any titillation over their state of undress?

Although I don't necessarily share all your qualms, it's good that you have shared them. I don't want to see people getting hurt or forced at gunpoint, but if a women gets embaressed in a situation such as losing her bikini in a flowrider or being lifted by a helicopter, I can still feel sympathy but enjoy the view. But I understand if other, better people than me don't feel the same
