Video Indexing Software

Anyone know a good program that i can use to index a video so it can be fast forwarded while playing in WMP or WinAmp? There was one I found a file back, but dont have it on my HDD anymore. I have a few caps that I wanna upload, but want them indexed first. Thanks!

Often times I'll download a movie, and even though I have downloaded the whole file, all of my media players will not let me rewind or fast forward. Essentially I can watch the movie and if I want to fast forward to 10 mins into the movie for example, it will not let me. I simply have to wait till the movie gets there... I have tried a number of programs that fix errored files, but has not done the trick...

Thanks, AE

OK, i now understand what you mean. I did once have a program to fix this, but i lost it when i last formatted. I'll have a search about to see what info i can find, and i'll get back to you on this one.

Hey aedude871 what file types are you having troubles with ? If they are ASF,WMV or WMA files, try using asftools. It works great for me, just do a basic repair, it takes about one second per minute of video to make the files "Seekable".

Some quotes from the site:
AsfTools is a free windows 98/ME/2000/XP program to process ASF,WMV and WMA files.

Features include:
-Join & Split
-Many different Repairing Tools
-Most operations are done without re-compressing so the quality will not degrade
-Converting ASF/WMV format to AVI
-Extracting audio stream and saving it as WAV
-Converting WMV1/WMV2 format to MP43
-Making the stream files "Seekable"
-Creating ASX file
-And more ...
