Viewing Attachments
 

I've been having this problem since before the video sections went down, and I hoped it would be fixed, but it hasn't been.

When I click on attachments in the video forums, sometimes I get a popup asking me whether i want to open or save the file, and I believe that's what should happen. But sometimes instead, the page will go white, and the browser apparently loads the file and then plays it in the upper left-hand corner. This is annoying when I want to save the file instead of view it, and sometimes, particularly with many of Sick Joey's posts, the videos will load on the browser but won't play, so I won't even get to see them.

I use Opera, if that helps any. Do you think this is a browser setting I need to fix?

I don't use Opera, so I'm afraid I can't offer you any advice or support.

after searching once more through Opera's Preferences, I found in the File Types section that it was trying to play certain video types in the browser by way of a plugin. I changed the preferences to "show download dialog" and things seem to be working fine now. so if anybody else ever has that problem... that's how to fix it :)
