Naked chorus in opera-thread vanished?
 

Sorry if I´m just being useless but I can´t find a thread where a forum member described an upcoming naked opera chorus event, featuring his gf. The thread was started around the beginning of 2021. Has the thread been moved again or deleted?

Damn, I think you’re right! I can’t find the thread either. Was super looking forward to hearing whether he enjoyed his girl being naked in front of a packed crowd!

Opera premiere
 

If I am not totally mistaken that opera premiers today. Hopefully there will be some media available afterwards.

You guys are like elephants, you never forget. I remember reading the same thread and found the scenario so potentially erotic that I did some searching at the time.
I think the musical group is the Czech Academic Choir of Brno.
The Opera is probably Bohuslav Martinu.
I'll upload some pictures and info that I collected at the time and hope someone can find pics or videos of the performance.

Bohuslav Martinu is the name of the composer, the opera is Recke Pasije. There's a long preview video of it here (interviews plus extracts). I can't see any sign of the nudity, so who knows if that made it into the final production.

It was definitely an interesting scenario, shame there wasn't a clear resolution on what happened.

The Opera discussed in this thread is online, put up by the choir. Search Youtube for Greek Passion uploaded in the last month, but there was no nudity in it as far as I can see.

From the very beginning, I got a strong sense of "hopeful non-fiction." I think it was a case of "I heard this play has nudity, so let's grill my gf and see if they are going to do it," and that was as far as the truth was at the time. Then the poster had realized what they had made of it and had the thread deleted.

I had a similar personality to this in my very early 20s, so I know it when I see it. I blamed it on be raised extremely prudish, just to get to college and find out that "normal" and "typical" were not what I had experienced, so I suddenly was hopeful in making up for lost time as my mind would race with possible scenarios, none of which ever came to fruition.

I can believe nudity was genuinely discussed as a possibility very early in planning the production, but the poster then got wind of it and assumed it would definitely be happening, as opposed to being something that would almost certainly get struck out at the next meeting. I guess with a lot of productions of Hair, early on there's some talk of "wouldn't it be ker-azy if we actually did the nude scene?", and then in most cases it ends up either omitted completely or heavily watered down.

When I was in college, there was supposed to be a play that was just written/just won awards, and our school was shocked that it was awarded to put on the play, as small of a school as it was and not known to be a theatre school.

Anyway, the entire second act was supposed to be done completely nude, and in context it made sense, but the person who donated a bunch of money to put their name on the theatre got wind of it and made a huge stink about it in town. So, the entire second act was done in skin-toned bodysuits.

The people who know theatre were so upset that our school did it this way. It was a huge letdown.

Now our blackbox experimental theatre, on the other hand, that had some crazy stuff including a masturbation scene in one play and everything. Those shows would only run for three or four nights, though, and I was already doing pro music gigs at that point, so I was never able to attend any of them. :(
