What will yo do with nude/sex pics and videos after death?
Leave them on locked computer?
Leave them on UNlocked computer to surprise your next-of-kin? Bequeath them to the discrete pervert nephew? |
Destroy them
I'm 85 years old and I've destroyed all that I think will reflect poorly on me when I'm gone. One exception is the nude Polaroids I took of my wife, then girlfriend, in the 1960s. I CAN'T FIND THEM.
|
If I'm dead, I won't be doing anything. The digital stuff is under a password that only I know, some boudoir pics of my wife and some toys are in a suitcase in the closet, we don't really care about that stuff.
|
Put a "dead-man's switch" on my computer at the nursing home. When both of us are gone, it will release all of them unblurred into the wild. The world deserves to know how hot we were.

Hope at the time I die I'm in action on top with the camera running.
What a legacy for my sons to challenge. In reality I suspect things like old personal files, pictures and written memories become pretty far down on the significance list of one's effects once they're gone. Probably most of your immediate family already knows of strongly suspects what you have, anyway. Maybe some will remember a little as far back as 3 generations, their great grandfather or grandmother, but memories fade pretty fast. |
Just look at vintage porn, that will be us in forty years

If I pre-decease my wife, I suspect she will destroy everything. If I go last, everything is more likely to survive, although if I have a lengthy terminal condition I would probably destroy everything
|
It does bring up a pretty interesting issue from the other side. When my parents both died, I had to clean up their house and get stuff in order. Needless to say, I went through everything to make sure I wasn't throwing away something important to the estate.
If I had stumbled on nude or sex pics, I would not have been horrified - probably the opposite. Even though my parents were no longer hard bodies after their thirties, I would have been happy for them because I know what my experience being free spirited with photographic equipment has been like - basically, awesome. If I had found photos, I would have destroyed them out of caution for not knowing what their wishes were. |
I have an agreement with a friend that if either of us goes unexpectedly we'll go collect all the stuff no one needs to get access to.

pics and videos after death
All mine, with a few exceptions, are on a cloud account under a secret username and password. Even my wife cannot access them. I guess they would remain there forever, unless that cloud went defunct.
With some physical things and toys, they are in a box marked 'Destroy upon Death'. My daughter knows the type of things in it, to not snoop in it and just get rid of it. We are pretty open about sexual things. (She has one too!!! Lol) |
