Series Vs Zip
 

So does the forum prefer I post a lot of pics in a series in a zip file or is it ok to post them all in the correct thread. I have 38 pics from one series and I don't know if I can post them all or post a few and link to a zip file.

As a paid member, I prefer the zip with an intro of 4-10 pics on the page to indicate what's inside. Opinions differ, and some posters will refuse to consider the other side. It's up to you, but what matters most is your willingness to contribute - thank you for that, and for asking about how to conform to the local customs! That still matters to some of us and helps retain what's left of the atmosphere on this site.

If it's allowed I will probably post all the pics to the site. If I needed to what is the best and virus free site that hosts zips?

As far as I know it's allowed to post all the pictures (and those unpaid-up members will probably thank you for it, since as I understand it they don't get to download zips), assuming they're not in some violation of the rules, e.g watermarked; as to the zips, as long as the condition above is met, you can go ahead and put them directly into your post, remembering that each zip counts as an attachment: for example, what I've generally done is to make a post with nine images and one zip containing all the remaining relevant pictures, thus reaching the ten-attachments-per-post limit.

Yeah even in zips I wouldn't post watermarked pics.

The Forum has no preference. Some people like a zip because they don't like to spend the time clicking a lot of individual photos. Others prefer the series so they can bypass the pictures they do not want and only click the ones they do.

From this moderator's standpoint, I am not a fan of zips because people have been known to hide things in them, like executable files, illegal content, watermarked pictures, lots of duplicates, and videos (when in the Photo section).

In your case, 38 pictures would only be four posts should you post them individually.

Yeah the one I just posted in bottomless took up less than two full posts so I think that's the way to go at the moment. Zip wise I would never be that rude.

There are some members here that will post a zip of less than ten pictures.

I actually saw one the other day that had only 9 pictures and the zip totaled less than 86 KBs. Not MBs, but KBs.

Some people just kill me.
